“Inter Alia” is an extraordinary exhibition that brings together a diverse group of artists, blending their personal stories with broader social and cultural dialogues. Running from May 17th to June 2nd, 2024, this event takes place at two accessible venues in Lalmatia: Kalakendra at 9/4, Block-D, and Dwip Gallery at 1/1, Block-D.
Open daily from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, the exhibition showcases a wide range of artistic expressions that offer a rich, multi-dimensional experience that extends across both space and time.
The exhibition features the works of six talented artists: A. Asan, Apu Raj Bongshi, Farhana Ferdausi, Khandkar Nasir Ahammed, Kuntal Barai, and Sumon Barman. These artists come from various backgrounds, each reflecting on their lived experiences through their art.
Their works explore themes such as memories, disillusionments, dislocations, and desires. They also examine their ongoing efforts to critically position themselves in the context of contemporary history.
Curated by Sharmillie Rahman, “Inter Alia” invites viewers to explore and reflect on their own place within the evolving story of existence. The exhibition is a collage of life-world experiences, offering a deep and engaging examination of the interplay between personal and collective histories.
