Brihatta Art Foundation Introduces ‘Home Art Project’ Grant for Practicing Artists

Brihatta Art Foundation presents ‘Brihatta Artist Grant- Home Art Project’ which is a three-month work grant for a virtual residency that will take place in the artist’s own residence. The residency will provide the opportunity to refine artists’ practice and way of working with available resources, as well as introducing adaptable distant learning methods and exchanging of ideas through mentorship. A total grant of 500,000BDT will be distributed among 10 to 15 artists, ranging between Tk 30,000 Tk 50,000 each. The grant call has been set up in response to the unexpected global crisis, especially amongst emerging artists in Bangladesh.

The honorable juries of the ‘Home Art Project’ are Tayeba Begum Lipi, Artist and Co-Founder of Britto Trust Arts, Nisar Hossain, Dean of Faculty of Fine Art (University of Dhaka) and Alak Roy , Artist and Founder of Sculpture Center Chattagram,.
The application period began on Friday, 5th June, and will end on Thursday 7th July midnight. The decisions on the grants to be awarded will be made by the Brihatta Art Foundation’s Board of Trustees on the basis of a Juries review. The decisions will be announced on the second week of July and the project will start from mid-July with the virtual guidance by three impressive mentors- Visual Artist Dhali Al Mamoon, Artist and Co-Founder of Britto Trust Arts, Mahbubur Rahman and Artist, Faculty of Fine Art (University of Dhaka) and Founder of Brihatta Art Foundation, Bishwajit Goswami.
