Farida Yesmin Parveen is an artist whose work flows naturally from her love for the world around her. Born on September 12, 1970, in Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong, she grew up in a family that valued education, culture, and giving back to society. From childhood, she was fascinated by trees, rivers, oceans, and animals, and that fascination gradually became the heart of her artistic journey. Surrounded by inspiration, Farida developed a deep curiosity and a love for learning that has guided her ever since.

Her academic journey began in the humanities, culminating in a Bachelor’s degree in Arts in 1996. But her thirst for growth didn’t stop there. She later completed internationally recognized examinations from the University of Cambridge in 2019 and 2020, showing her dedication to lifelong learning. Her studies and art have always grown together, enriching her understanding of the world and giving depth to her creative work. For Farida, art is not just a passion, it is a way to connect with nature and express emotions. She primarily works in abstract fluid art, a medium that feels free, flowing, and natural to her. Her favorite color is blue, which often dominates her pieces, reflecting the sky, rivers, and oceans she loves.

“I love working with nature because so many things in it are connected to our lives. It makes choosing a theme easy,”

she says.

Her artistic tools include acrylic, oil, and dye paint, but acrylic fluid has become her signature style. Farida is proud to be the first artist in Bangladesh to hold a solo exhibition of fluid art. Her second solo exhibition was a great success, eight of her artworks were sold, and many visitors encouraged her to teach workshops to share her technique.

Farida’s love for nature is visible in every brushstroke. She draws inspiration from rivers, trees, skies, and oceans, blending the colors and forms of the natural world into her abstract compositions. She believes that art is like therapy, a way to heal, feel, and grow. “Art is about thoughts, and I get inspiration from what I feel and see in nature,” she says.

Over the years, Farida’s work has reached audiences far beyond Bangladesh. She has exhibited in Singapore, Italy, Greece, Indonesia, the U.A.E., Nepal, and the USA, earning admiration for her unique approach to abstract fluid art. People abroad often connect with her work in a special way, appreciating its soul and depth.
