A story of light, texture, and emotion, D6 Residence stands as a soulful exploration of what it means to design with both purpose and precision. Conceived and crafted by Dzignscape Architecten Studio, led by Principal Architect Md. Ehsanul Karim, alongside Associate Architects Salman Sabbir Masuk and Monisha Sams, this duplex mansion in Dhanmondi-06 redefines modern luxury through restraint, balance, and timeless warmth. Spanning 4,800 square feet, 2,400 square feet on each level, this residence is not merely a display of form and material but an immersive narrative of beauty and belonging. Every piece of art, furniture, and décor was envisioned and created by the design team themselves, weaving a story where functionality and emotion coexist effortlessly.

The design philosophy of D6 Residence is rooted in the belief that a home should breathe, evolving with its inhabitants, growing richer with time.

A canvas of soft, neutral tones forms the backdrop, allowing evolving styles and personal layers to emerge. Textures play a leading role: the velvety softness of matte finishes, the warmth of wood grains, the calm elegance of marble and stone, and the gentle embrace of textiles, together creating a symphony of touch and light. Each detail, from sculptural lighting to handcrafted furniture, resonates with meaning, precision, and poetry.

The entrance sets the tone, where modern luxury meets geometric elegance. A chevron-patterned marble inlay in black and beige defines the foyer, while cove lighting, recessed LEDs, and a gold-accented crystal chandelier add opulence. The living and dining areas continue this refined aesthetic with clean lines, large slab finishes, and seamless spatial flow. A marble-clad staircase with a glass balustrade and under-step lighting becomes the focal point, while a built-in buffet beneath adds functional beauty. The interiors embrace a contemporary-luxury style with hints of modern classic, symmetry, high-gloss surfaces, and the timeless harmony of marble and wood.

The outdoor seating area extends the idea of connection, an airy, modern-tropical retreat where architecture meets nature. A wooden slat pergola casts dynamic light patterns, while rattan and rope furniture bring tactile warmth. A white marble kitchenette with dark veining adds refinement, and black-metal sliding doors create a seamless link to the indoor dining area, truly “connecting spaces and people.” Inside, craftsmanship defines the home’s essence. The bedroom embodies quiet sophistication with polished beige marble floors, herringbone wood details, and a soothing neutral palette. Glass wardrobes, soft drapery, and a tufted loveseat enhance comfort, while layered lighting adds warmth. The bathroom mirrors this calm luxury through beige marble, brass accents, and softly lit wood cabinetry, evoking a serene, spa-like feel.
The concept of the residence was to create a timeless and soulful home, one that celebrates the art of living.

The lower floor is devoted to social life, living, dining, kitchen, and a guest suite, while the upper floor offers privacy with bedrooms, a lounge, and a study. Designed for a multi-generational family, it harmonizes communal warmth with individual retreat. The site’s dense urban context in Dhanmondi inspired a sense of sanctuary: inward-looking, softly lit, yet connected to the city’s rhythm.

Spatial planning emphasizes layered openness, visual connectivity without losing intimacy. The central staircase serves as a sculptural core, linking levels and allowing natural light to cascade through the void. Circulation flows effortlessly, aided by strategic zoning and central utility placement. Adaptability was a key consideration: spaces like the upper lounge and study can transform into a guest room or home office, reflecting the home’s living, breathing nature.

The material palette embraces natural durability, matte stone, engineered wood, breathable paints, and tactile plaster finishes ensure longevity and comfort in Dhaka’s humid climate. Locally sourced materials and artisan-crafted furniture bring authenticity and sustainability, while seamless detailing and concealed services maintain visual calm. Built-ins align perfectly with walls and ceilings, blurring the line between architecture and furniture.
Lighting defines the ambiance, daylight filters through large windows and screens, creating a gentle rhythm of light and shadow, while layered ambient and accent lighting at night transforms the mood. The central chandelier, custom sconces, and handcrafted lamps serve as both illumination and art. Comfort and sustainability are integrated through centralized HVAC, cross-ventilation, and passive cooling, with acoustic insulation and soft materials enhancing serenity and warmth.

Ultimately, the essence of D6 Residence lies in its emotional depth, serene, contemporary, and quietly luxurious.
It is a home where proportion and texture replace excess, and where light and craftsmanship form the language of comfort. For Dzignscape Architecten Studio, D6 Residence it is an experience, a living composition of material, memory, and meaning. It stands as a masterclass in modern luxury, rooted in authenticity and guided by the simple yet profound pursuit of beauty that feels alive.
