The 10th Oriental Painting Exhibition, titled “Seeking Peace and Harmony,” was recently held at the Abinta Gallery of Fine Arts in Uttar Badda, Dhaka. Organized in collaboration with the Oriental Painting Study Group (OPSG), the exhibition featured 54 stunning artworks by selected artists, showcasing Bangladesh’s rich folk traditions, royal influences, and modern Oriental techniques.

The artists used a variety of mediums, including watercolour, gouache, tempera, batik, patachitra, nakshikantha, acrylic, and print, to explore themes of peace, unity, and humanity. Their work conveyed a powerful message of harmony and connection, encouraging reflection on shared values in a world often divided by inequality.

The event was inaugurated in the presence of prominent figures from the art and cultural community, including Monirul Islam and Nilu Rowshon Murshed. By blending traditional methods with contemporary styles, the exhibition highlighted the timeless relevance of unity and understanding. It served as a beautiful reminder of how art can inspire peace and bring people together, leaving a lasting impact on all who attended.

The artworks on display showed a mix of old and new ideas, helping visitors connect with different cultures and stories. Many people stopped to admire the colors, shapes, and feelings shared through the paintings and designs. The space felt warm and welcoming, encouraging guests to talk, share thoughts, and enjoy the experience together.
